Jose Luis Cuevas was a Mexican artist that was know for his unique work on paper and in statues of distorted human bodies and "debasement of humanity." This particular piece may have been commissioned for an invitation. The guest's name is listed but illegible. It is signed on the upper left corner by the artist in now faded ink.
